What Is a potentiostat?

A potentiostat is a device that allows you to control an electrochemical cell - which is a set of two main electrodes made of different metals, the reaction of which scientists want to study.

The issue is that it is hard to control an electrochemical cell. The potentiostat supplies and reads the voltage coming from the cell, and it needs to adjust the input voltage depending on the reading. Big industrial potentiostats are complex and very expensive, so our main goal is to bridge the gap between high price and functionality.

User Input
The user inputs the desired parameters for a reaction into a computer-based software

Processing
The user input is then processed, and the potentiostat applies the desired parameters to the electrochemical cell

Reaction
The reaction takes places with the desired parameters, and the potentiostat reads the output of the reaction

Output
The output is then processed by the software; data can be saved and the user can make adjustments
